Inspired by her own family’s ‘Still Room Recipe Book,’ Tina comes from a lineage of herbalists and nature lovers. Having eczema as a child she grew up with natural remedies and alternative treatments to complement conventional treatment for her skin. With a background in veterinary pharmaceutical sales and business development, she purchased her own business project (a failing beauty clinic in Papakura) in 2006 and quickly turned it around bringing with her a natural flair for herbal remedies and a personal understanding of sensitive skin complaints.
Tina expanded her interest in natural remedies with further study. She is a certified beauty therapist, has completed several post-graduate courses in advanced dermal therapies, and travelled extensively overseas to study cosmetic formulating. She is a certified herbalist, certified reiki teacher, and completed her certificate in Aroma Science in 2010. In 2019, Tina received a scholarship to study with American Social Scientist Dr Martha Beck where she is working now to obtain certification as a MBTI WayFinder Life Coach. Tina is also, this year, completing her certification in Permaculture Design.
Tina’s intuitive career path has gained her a solid education in holistic health and wellbeing and her passions now lie in what she calls Vital Ecology.
“ The skin is the bodies largest organ and as a result the skin tells us a story as to what is going on within the body. After years of asking questions, I have learned to work holistically by ‘ reading ‘ the skin and now offer customised skin care and herbal remedies for my clients. Many of the medicinal herbs we use are grown, harvested and dried at our own herbal distillery. Through this experience we have learned to read the land and have come to a deeper understanding of the relationship between the land and our health. Our new motto ‘ love the land to love your skin ‘ is behind everything that we do ” Tina Dion, The Dermal Apothecary and Founder of The Still Room
