I’ve been looking for a good way to explain the direction I’m taking the business this year and it didn’t take long for a good example to appear. This article popped into my feed and its a great intro into where The Still Room is heading to and why.
For a good number of years now I have been observing a correlation between skin problems and environmental imbalances. Not all but many and many more skin issues stemming from dietary imbalances that are directly related to our food systems.
In developing skincare products, I am constantly looking for solutions that work. As a skin therapist, we have many tools that can help but ultimately we cant fix skin problems with just products or treatments. That’s why I have chosen to work holistically. There are many different people with their own take on using the word holistic, for me, it means assessing how external influences affect the skin.
These influences can result within the workplace or home and can include atmospheric ( eg air-con ) emotional, food or environment factors. In observing imbalances within my clients as apart of an integrated diagnosis I can come to understand how to assist.
It would be fair to say that I have since spent a small fortune hunting down the experts and I’ve listened and learned. Soil biologists, social scientists, regenerative agriculture designers, traditional herbalists, medicinal plant healers and even shamans.
The BIGGEST lesson that I have learned over the last 3 yrs
is that our bodies and the earth are connected.
We ARE bio-organisms made from the SAME fabric as the planet and as we poison
the earth so to are we poisoning ourselves. It really is that simple.
So now that I have this info, I am on a mission.
Not only will we be introducing you to growers and soil makers who will be offering you the most nutrient-rich, pesticide-free produce delivered to your door, BUT I’ve also developed a new range of teas (grown by me to nutrient-dense principles), wellbeing products and coaching programs soon to be launched online.
All products and produce are mindfully crafted and grown in respect to maintaining the life cycle of the land. (returning not just taking) and at the same time returning and restoring health and alignment to your body.
I’m hoping that as a team we can support the small guys, the growers that bleed their heart and soul into soil sovereignty for little reward, and help them gain momentum in a shift to bring back ecosystems.
Our bodies are that same ecosystem.
