YOU. ARE. NATURE.
At The Still Room, we go beyond traditional beauty therapy. We delve into the underlying causes of skin issues and provide expert recommendations for topical products, nutrition and body mechanics. Our approach recognises that the layers of our skin are not isolated but instead are interconnected with the rest of the body.
Over the years, I have extensively studied both traditional natural health modalities and science-based solutions related to skin.
Now, as a holistic skin health practitioner, I have slowly evolved my practice into a unique style of skin assessment by combining these methods.
The health of our skin is an extension of not just what we eat but also how we operate in the world, and what/who we come into contact with. I have developed a great respect for nature as a direct result of this journey coming to understand just how interconnected we are with each other and the earth.
At The Still Room, we have our own unique philosophy that incorporates the health and well-being of the person when assessing any skin imbalances. Topical skin products can only work so far so we offer more in-depth guidance as a part of our skincare brand.
We try to keep our packaging very simple, the jars and bottles are reused as locals bring back their empties for refill. Our labels are easily dissolvable and, for those purchasing online, glass can be recycled.
Our Made Fresh products are made using pure organic ingredients and have been designed to be just like our preferred food sources, made freshly without preservatives. You will see there is a choice for you to have your products made with or without preservatives. We do advise that if you choose preservative free, you treat your skincare just like food by storing it in the fridge and using clean utensils each time you dispense.
Unfortunately, we recently lost our herb farm where we were growing our own locally sourced ingredients organically. It is taking some time to replenish stocks so we are looking for local sources while we use imported organic herbs.
Our skin care is not DIY. We are professionals who have researched, tested and designed formulas to treat certain skin imbalances.
As a permaculture designer, sustainability is a priority and always on my mind. I have been taught to design to maximise the ecology and create excess resources – the definition of true abundance. This translates into not just land design but also life and business design. We operate with a conscious mindset questioning everything that we do. By all means, not perfectly, but I am happy we are moving in the right direction.
Is taken a wee while to regain our footing post COVID but I feel we are now more on track than we perhaps ever were.
I do hope you have signed up to follow us on our journey as we are only just getting started!
